Driving lessons Narre Warren — on your real local roads
Looking for driving lessons Narre Warren? Narre Warren sits right next door to our base in Berwick, so we know its roads well. It's a great place to learn because it packs so much into a small area: quiet residential streets, roundabouts, busy shopping-centre traffic around Westfield Fountain Gate, the Princes Highway and the Monash Freeway.
Your lessons start on the calm streets away from the main roads. From there we build up to Narre Warren's busier spots: Webb Street and the station area, the Princes Highway, Narre Warren North Road, and the roads and car parks around Fountain Gate, where you'll learn to handle heavy traffic, pedestrians and drivers looking for parking.
Once you're confident, the Monash Freeway is minutes away for merging, lane changes and higher-speed driving. By test day, Narre Warren's mix of roads means very little will catch you by surprise.

Your local test centre: VicRoads Dandenong
Most learners in the south-east sit their drive test at the Dandenong VicRoads customer service centre. In the lead-up to your test we rehearse the kinds of roads and manoeuvres examiners use around VicRoads Dandenong, and our test day package includes a warm-up lesson plus use of the instructor's car for the test itself.
Preparing for your drive test
The drive test is a short pre-drive vehicle check followed by two on-road stages; you only continue to the second stage once you've driven safely and competently in the first. It usually takes around 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
Learning around Fountain Gate is good preparation, because you'll already be used to busy, unpredictable traffic. In the lead-up we also practise roundabouts, multi-lane intersections, lane changes, merges and a reversing manoeuvre such as a parallel park or three-point turn.
Most learners who don't pass first time lose marks for the same few things: missed mirror and blind-spot checks, hesitating at intersections, poor lane positioning and inconsistent speed. Every test-prep lesson is aimed squarely at those.
Before you can book your drive test
- Hold your Ls long enough — if you're under 21, that's at least 12 months on your learner permit.
- Log your 120 hours — 120 hours of supervised driving including 20 at night, recorded in your logbook or the myLearners app (for under-21 learners).
- Pass the Hazard Perception Test — the VicRoads test you sit before the drive test.
- Have an eligible car — clean, registered and roadworthy with a working handbrake, or simply use our dual-control car, which is included in the test-day package.
